See some of Scotland’s iconic species in a matter of days. Capture unique close up images under the tuition and guidance of Paul McDougall.
This trip is designed to highlight the very best of the Dumfries & Galloway area in south-west Scotland.
The Scottish Lowlands in this part of Scotland are a real gem, They are often overlooked for the more iconic Scottish wildlife destinations of the highlands and islands. But you won’t be disappointed as the wildlife is rich, unique and plentiful. We work with Alan McFadyen as no one knows the wildlife of this area better than him. We’ll be based throughout the trip near in the town of Kirkcudbright where we will have exclusive access to a number of hides situated in a number of locations.
These specialist hides have been designed to allow great images of elusive species like Redstart, Pied Flycatcher, Whinchat and Cuckoo and we will also be able to photograph other species too like Sparrowhawk, Kingfisher, Dipper, Siskin, Common Redpoll and Common Buzzards Also visiting our hides are a range of smaller woodland birds like woodpecker, Nuthatch and Siskin along with all the other common woodland species.
In addition we will have opportunities to observe and photograph pine marten, otter, red squirrels and badgers.
Each day you will have the opportunity to be in a different hide so you can get a great portfolio from this short trip, or you can focus on one specific species. It is a brilliant opportunity to observe and capture great images of some real rarities.
